 Dedicated to improving the skills of the hospitality and tourism industry. Touchstone Training Academy provides quality internship and training to upskill current workers and prepare underserved individuals for employment.

Training Programs

Touchstone Training Academy (TTA) provides a variety of workforce development, internship, and training programs to train low income, marginalized individuals for jobs in the hospitality industry.

We provide training specifically tailored to increase workers’ skills in a variety of areas, including:
Baristas
Housekeeping
Front Desk Training

Housekeeper 5-day Internship Program

The Housekeeper internship is a 5 day curriculum, followed by a minimum of 1,000-hours in a “competency-based” internship model. The course prepares workers for housekeeping positions in hotels. Enrolment into this apprenticeship is based on passing an interview with TTA staff and management.

Directors of Food & Beverage, Executive Chefs, Human Resources Directors and Managers, and Supervisors from our employer partners can meet and interview participants before the end of the program, and extend job offers.

Certificates: Industry Recognized Certificate upon completion of this course. 


This 42-hour course focuses on the history, preparation, and service of coffee, and it includes the 18-hour customer service training. The course consists of three 6-hour modules: Customer Service training, Server training, Food Handler Certification training and 24-hours of Barista Training.

It incorporates both lecture and hands-on training. This training will prepare participants for barista positions that are available at restaurants, hotels, and cafes.

Trainees must be able and willing to taste coffee.
